Atari’s Ghostbusters Due to Release in 2009

in

When the merging of Activision and Bizzard took place, we thought we lost Ghostbusters but out of the blue came Atari who picked up the Ghostbusters game and confirmed what Dan Aykord and Variety had assured.

Ghostbusters, a follow up game of Ghostbusters I and Ghostbusters II is now in the development stage and is due to release next year. It will bring all the original talent back together and is written by Dan Aykord and Harold Remmis who would also lend their voices to the production. Isn’t this enough to make us excited and send our pulses high!

You Act Before You Decide

in

A psychologist from the University of Memphis, Dr. Rick Dale, has been using the Wii in his latest experiments. He is trying to study the relationship between the mind and the body. The Wii helped him to understand how our brains handle thinking and action, and that the two are intertwined. One thing that he found out was we begin to act before we think.

In this experiment people were asked to use the Wiimote to check if the statement was true or false. They saw that before making up their mind players had a tendency to tale a step thus proving the study.

Time to Play Table Tennis in North America

Family Table Tennis has been quite friendly enough in Japan. The Japanese company Aksys has decided to release a Wiiware version in North America. The release is the second family sports title. However there will be slight necessary changes made to this game. The game will be renamed from Okikaru Air Hockey to Family Glide Hockey.

Family Glide Hockey adds several twists to the game. We have weird tables, special shots, and extra minigames like Glide Hockey Drill. The game will be launched this holiday. However the date is yet to be decided.

Marvelous Entertainment and Ubisoft have been into partnership since long time. It was Ubisoft who helped ME to introduce No More Heroes in North America as the Japanese publisher did not have the American branch at that time.

Wii Engulfing Wii Speak Microphone.

in

Nintendo always had profits selling Wii accessories and now its time for the WiiSpeak Microphone to join the family in this month. WiiSpeak is a peripheral to communicate (non-locally) during a game.

The peripherals mostly enhance the games they support and it’s high time that we should start using the Wii Fit or the Wii Wheel to play the Mario or the zombies in the House of the Dead. I feel it’s hard to remember that when did we last used any other peripheral except for the Wiimote or the Nunchuk for playing any Wii title.

Guitar Hero: World Tour Band Not Able to Meet the Demands

in

It’s celebration time for Activision as their Guitar Hero: World Tour full band kit has been a great hit among the youngsters and been selling widely across the channel. This has lead the company not being able to meet the demands in this holiday season. The company has also reported that their franchise has topped the software charts for the first nine months of this year. So, if you, like a good parent wanted to gift your exceptionally good children with this gift you’ll have to hang on as you won’t see this game on the store shelves for a while.

Nippon Ichi as a WiiWare and Wii Developer

in

The time has come when Nippon Ichi and Nintendo are officially together as the publisher has signed up as a WiiWare and a Wii developer. It was quite expected that Nippon Ichi would be soon on the WiiWare platform as the news of an NIS WiiWare game, Let’s HitchHike was leaked last month after the Nintendo conferences in US and Japan.

Nippon Ichi is quite significant as a Wii developer as the first thing that comes to our mind where this company is concerned is Disgaea. The company is spreading the series across multiple formats developed by NIS and is much contended to do so.
