Time Magazine has opened voting for this year's Person of the Year to its readers online. There's been a big push in the gaming community, especially Wii bloggers, to garner votes for Nintendo's living legend, Shigeru Miyamoto. After weeks and weeks of voting, the result are in.
Miyamoto has landed at the number one spot on Time's list this year. This may or may not get him onto the cover of the magazine, as Time now has a number of Person of the Year profiles including the cover story. Either way, it's good to see the gaming community has been able to make its voice heard and reward one of its most important pioneers with attention in the mainstream press.
